Santa Clarita, Calif., October 23, 2012 – Animal Behavior College (ABC) is proud to announce that it has added a Classroom Dog Obedience Instructor Training Program at its Santa Clarita Valley, California location with funding available for qualified military families. With this new local program option, students can now choose to take the certified dog training class in a personal classroom setting. The classroom course takes approximately 5 months of full time study to complete and includes 60 hours of outside classroom time with homeless dogs to help them become better candidates for adoption. The ABC course for certified dog training has over 8,900 graduates and the alumni group boasts the largest number of professional dog trainers in the United States ABC offers student-friendly financing options which may allow students to get started for as low as $25 a month. Enrollment is limited for the January, 2013 class. For more information please call 800-795-3294.

ABC is also committed to helping their military students with tuition assistance. The Classroom Dog Obedience Instructor Training Program is approved for the training of veterans and eligible persons under the provisions of title 38, United States Code. Below is a list of programs available:

Debbie Kendrick, Vice President of Animal Behavior College says, “It is very exciting for us to be able to offer this program in a personal classroom environment. Even though our distance learning format for the Certified Dog Obedience Instructor training program has been extremely successful, we recognize the need for this type of structure as well. Now students who in the past were looking for a more traditional classroom school model will be able to take our program as well.”

Sharon Vincuilla is an ABC Certified Dog Trainer and is the class instructor. She is an independent dog trainer and founder of the company, Holistic Dog Expert. For over 7 years Sharon managed the five-star hotel and training facility for dogs at K9’s Only. Her responsibilities included conducting private lessons, group classes, overseeing the in-kennel training program, monitoring the health and well-being of all of the dogs, and she created lesson plans and manuals for the Group Class Programs in Basic Obedience, Advanced Obedience and Puppy Kindergarten. Sharon presently volunteers at New Leash on Life Animal Rescue. Through their Lend a Paw program she trains and certifies dogs and handlers to visit 16 facilities around Los Angeles including hospices, nursing homes, the LA Missions, and the Antelope Valley & Edelman children’s courts to provide those in need with interaction with dogs. Sharon is also certified in Canine First Aid & CPR through the American Red Cross.
